SEAWA IS LAUNCHED!
SEAWA is launched! South East Asia Worship Academy commenced in May 2010. Representing 10 different Churches, Anglicans, Methodist, Pentecostals and Free Church, the Academy is made up of some very gifted ministries, musicians, pastors and congregational members. Also 3 students from Thailand have been sponsored to attend. They are key leaders in Praise and Worship Ministries in Thailand and will form the foundation of the team to lead Worship Academy Thailand in about 2 years time. One Thai student was taken ill before flying so will join us at the next Academy in July.
SEAWA is being well led by Tony & Christine Seow – Tony was a former student on UK Academy 5. They have a small team looking after hosting, pastoral support, administration and technical support. The Academy is hosted in a fine Conference Centre – ‘Praise Haven’, – run by the Salvation Army. teaching is being covered by Chris Bowater, Richard Lewis, Stuart Burns and Matt Key from the UK, Andy Bromley from USA and Canon Daniel Tong and Bishop Rennis from Singapore.
Worship Academy generally and Chris personally is grateful for the support of Bishop Rennis. It was thrilling again to speak on the Sunday morning service at St John’s St Margaret’s a great Anglican Church led by Bishop Rennis and in the evening be involved at the Global Day of Prayer gathering with 10,000 Singaporean Christians.
The journey is truly exhausting. The heat in Singapore is wasting. But worth it? O yes!
“Thank you Worship Academy for a weekend that has taken me to a new level in understanding what worship is truly about. I believe Worship Academy is going to bring clarity & is going to ground me in the Knowledge of God. Very much looking forward to session 2 …!!”
David Lim – SEAWA Academy Student
