Bishop David Carr
Revd Dr David Carr was born on 25 April 1945, in Birmingham. His career spans the business worlds of finance and professional football management, until his pioneering of Renewal Christian Centre in 1972. He has been married to Molly for 39 years and has 3 children, Ashley, Melanie and Lucy; and two grandchildren, Poppy and Camille.
Alison Key
Alison Key is a gifted worship leader and tutor for WA UK. She was the leader for WA6 and her heart for raising up true worshippers in the church was an inspiration to the whole course. Alison honed her worship leading skills at Hillsong Australia. Now returned to the UK Alison leads worship at her Church, Fathers House in Wath upon Dearne.
Gabriel and Andrea Alonso
Gabriel was born in Annecy, France. He has travelled internationally to perform with Orchestras (including the English Northern Philharmonia) and bands, in concerts and Jazz festivals, and more recently with artists like Graham Kendrick, Gloria Gaynor, Songs of Praise, BBC. Now living in England, he balances his time between performance, teaching and production. He is now based in the North of England, with his wife Andrea, and they serve a local church (Five Towns Christian Fellowship). He is director and founder of EdMF (Ecole des Ministeres Francophones) a school of ministry for French speaking leaders, which is based in England.
Andy was born in England, and grew up in Castleford, West Yorkshire. In her late teens she studied music over three years (harmony, flute and voice) and then went on to teacher training college and graduated with a BA in Education.
Andy met Gaby in Lincoln, England in 1989, and married him in 1993. Her time is divided between school teaching and travelling. She works as a session musician and performer in various countries as she sings in English or French. She travels widely to church, conference and concert settings, and in her spare time she teaches music lessons from home!
Luis and Carla Gonclaves
Luis and Carla Goncalves head up the team that host our Portugal Academy and we are excited to see it grow in this region of Europe over the coming years. Luis was born in Lisbon, Portugal. His first musical studies started in Loures Fire department band. He then studied in Lisbon’s National Conservatory under Emido Coutinho and Hermenegildo Campos. By the age of 16 he was playing in the main Portuguese symphonic orchestras.
Luis has toured with Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Mirella Freni and many others. In 1989 he joined the Portuguese Navy Band and today holds the position of 1st Sargeant Musician as 1st trombone soloist and leader.
