Heather Thompson - Powerpack
Powerpack is a charismatic children’s ministry working with 5 – 11 year olds and was founded by Heather Thompson in 1986. The name ‘Powerpack’ reflects the fact that we aim to see children as ‘powerpacks’ for God, finding their destiny as ‘God Chasers and Nation Shakers’.
As well as working with children, Powerpack is also involved in encouraging, training and resourcing children’s leaders and churches, through training courses, the production of resources and consultancy work with individual churches.
Children's Ministry Academy will be a collaboration between Worship Academy and Powerpack to provide a resource for those wishing to train in ministry work with children by equipping and empowering those involved in children’s ministry. It will provide training in all aspects of children’s work, be intensively practical and have a strong emphasis on how to facilitate the work of the Holy Spirit amongst children.
Course tutors will include Heather Thompson and other key members of the Powerpack team as well as those from other ministries with expertise in specific aspects of children’s ministry.
Children's Ministry Academy will be run in association with and in the same format as Worship Academy (12 bi – monthly weekends over a 2 year period) as well as having the same basic vision of helping people gain skills and be strengthened in their identity and destiny.
